Setup Email in Microsoft Outlook 2010

Below are the step-by-step instructions to set up your BEZA.NET e-mail account in MS Outlook 2010. If you’re running a newer version, please refer to our MS Outlook 2016 guide.

If you run into any issues, please restart Email Assistance or contact us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

STEP 1

In Microsoft Outlook, select E-mail Accounts from the Tools menu.

STEP 2

On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

STEP 3

Select IMAP for the server type and click Next.

STEP 4

Enter the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings window:

Name: Enter your name (eg John Smith)

Email Address: enter your email address (eg jsmith@mydomain.com)

User Name: enter your email address (eg jsmith@mydomain.com

Password: enter your email password (and select Remember password)

Incoming mail server (IMAP): enter your mail server host name

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): enter your mail server host name

STEP 5

Click the More Settings… button

STEP 6

6a. Click on the Outgoing Server tab.

6b. Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box.

6c. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.

STEP 7

7a. Select the Advanced tab,

7b. Under Incoming server (IMAP), select This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) and confirm the port number is 995.

7c. Under Outgoing server (SMTP), select This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) and change the port number to 587.

STEP 8

Click OK.

STEP 9

Click Next.

STEP 10

Click Finish.

Congratulations, you have successfully setup your BEZA hosted email in Microsoft Outlook 2010!

Based on the email address your provided on the Email Setup Assistant, the following is a summary of the settings you’ll need to successfully setup your email:

Email Address: No email listed, restart Email Setup Assistant.

User Name: enter your email address (eg john.doe@your-domain.us).

Password: enter your email password.

Incoming Mail: enter your mail server host name

  • Incoming mail server type: IMAP
  • Incoming mail server Port: 993
  • This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL): Enabled

Outgoing mail server: enter your mail server host name

  • Outgoing mail server type: SMTP
  • Outgoing mail server Port: 587
  • This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL): Enabled
