Should I use HSTS preloading after migrating to HTTPS?

Yes, as long as you don’t have sub-sites (e.g. http://internal.site.com and https://www.site.com). All sites must be HTTPS enabled for HSTS to work properly. If you enable HSTS, you can optionally support HSTS preloading for extra security and improved performance. To enable preloading, you must visit hstspreload.org and follow the submission requirements for your site.

Will I see a drop in search?

Fluctuations can happen with any bigger site change. We can’t make any guarantees, but we recommend close monitoring of site post HTTP to HTTPS migration to ensure no impact to SERP.

How long will a move from HTTP to HTTPS take?
